A. Kosubek receives EARLI SIG 8 Student Research Excellence Recognition 2025

Anne Kosubek from the IFS received the “EARLI SIG 8 Student Research Excellence Recognition 2025” from Special Interest Group 8 “Motivation and Emotion” (SIG 8) of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding research achievements by young scientists in SIG 8.
Anne Kosubek received the award for her contribution entitled “Motivating Moments in the Classroom? Dyadic Links Between Teacher Enthusiasm and Student Motivation,” which was written in collaboration with Professor Hanna Gaspard, Professor Hannes Schröter, and Professor Fani Lauermann. The paper examines the enthusiasm experienced and expressed by teachers in dyadic 1-to-1 interactions and its influence on the intrinsic motivation of learners.
The study is based on data from the COLD study. This study looked at linguistically, culturally, and academically heterogeneous learning groups with migration and refugee experience in secondary schools and adult education.
Anyone interested in learning more about this topic is cordially invited to attend Anne Kosubek's presentation on “Motivating Moments in the Classroom? Dyadic Links Between Teacher Enthusiasm and Student Motivation” as part of the symposium “Motivational Dynamics in Interaction: What Really Happens Between Teachers and Their Students” (Session M11). The lecture will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. Here, further exciting insights into the dynamics between teachers and their students will be presented.
We congratulate Anne Kosubek on this well-deserved award!
