Large-scale systematic reviews and meta-analyses were conducted to examine the development of well-being during adolescence and emerging adulthood.

The AgeWell project, led by Dr. Yi-Jhen Wu, has completed two large-scale systematic reviews and meta-analyses with a focus on longitudinal studies. AgeWell addresses the fundamental question of how well-being develops during adolescence and emerging adulthood. The project is funded by German Research Foundation (DFG).

By examining multiple aspects of well-being and drawing on longitudinal studies across education, psychology, sociology, and health sciences, the project offers a comprehensive picture of how well-being develops among youth over time. The results were disseminated at international conferences, such as the Society for Longitudinal and Lifecourse Studies (SLLS). The project will make materials and analyses openly available.

The AgeWell team would like to thank the strong support from Michael Becker, Jonas Carvalho e Silva, Mingchia Yeh, and Ronny Scherer, as well as international scholars who shared secondary datasets.

The project is now moving forward. Another large-scale systematic review and meta-analysis will be conducted by collaborating with scholars at the College of Health & Human Services, Florida Gulf Coast University
