A networking meeting is taking place today at the Center for Research on Education and School Development, where education researchers from Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and the University of Duisburg-Essen will exchange ideas. The goal of the meeting is to pool their research expertise in various formats and to further develop the newly founded UA Ruhr Research Community “Future of Education – Advancing Quality and Innovation in School and Higher Education.”
The meeting also marks the launch of the collaborative work of this research community, which includes numerous members from the fields of education, psychology, subject-specific didactics, teaching and learning research, and sociology within the University Alliance Ruhr.
The “Future of Education” Research Community – initiated by Prof. Nele McElvany (TU Dortmund), Prof. Nikol Rummel (Ruhr University Bochum), and Prof. Isabell van Ackeren-Mindl (University of Duisburg-Essen) – brings together members from the field of educational research and focuses on education-related issues in order to address them even more effectively in the future through an interdisciplinary approach and across various levels of analysis: from data collection at the micro level to societal frameworks, for example with regard to learning in a digitalized world. A particular focus is on the transfer of scientific findings into educational practice, for example in teacher education.
We look forward to the collaboration within the Research Community “Future of Education”.
