The teacher survey in the international WO|GEN project, which is being conducted in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Rebecca Collie from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney, Australia, is now open for participation. The survey is aimed at all teachers in general education schools and seeks to examine teachers’ occupational well-being and AI use, as well as the associated occupational resources and challenges that teachers experience.
Competent teachers who feel comfortable in their profession are essential for schools to function effectively and successfully. However, due to the varying demands of their profession, teachers are among the occupational groups with an increased risk of experiencing occupational stress and strain. Rapid technological developments, for example in the field of generative AI, can offer relief on the one hand, but also bring new challenges on the other.
The WO|GEN study therefore aims to identify professional resources and challenges related to teachers' well-being. In particular, it also considers the role of generative AI and examines which institutional and individual factors influence the use of these technologies in a school context.
