Guest stay of Dr. Pascal Alscher at UCLA

As Futures Fellow at the University Alliance Ruhr, Pascal Alscher collaborated with Laura Wray-Lake on the joint “Education and Community” study.

As Futures Fellow of the University Alliance Ruhr, Dr. Pascal Alscher spent two months at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). During his stay, he worked with Professor Laura Wray-Lake on the joint study “Education and Community,” in which around 500 young people in the US are surveyed about their political education. The study uses the Civic Literacy Framework developed at the IFS.

The research stay provided Pascal Alscher with valuable insights into current approaches to political participation and social engagement among young people in the US, particularly methods for measuring political competencies.
