January 31: IFS Virtual Keynote Series on “Interventions that Support Students' Academic Success”

The IFS Virtual Keynote Series is an event that is internationally oriented and dedicated to significant topics in empirical educational research. On January 31, two renowned researchers will present their studies and findings in this setting. In her talk on "Promoting Motivation and Performance in Gateway STEM Classes with Value Interventions: Challenges and New Directions", Professor Judy Harackiewicz, PhD (University of Wisconsin will discuss the significance of interventions that focus on perceived usefulness in college STEM courses. In doing so, she will present preliminary findings as well as challenges from a recent intervention study.
The second presentation by Assoc. Professor David Yeager, PhD (University of Texas) focuses on "What We Learned from 10 Years of Mindset Intervention Research?" He will provide an overview of key findings from a decade of experiments with mindset interventions in education and present recent developments.
