As part of a StEG-Lesen symposium, the topic of "Quality and learning effectiveness of all-day schools" was critically examined with multipliers from educational research, educational administration, interest groups and educational practice, and problematic situations and possible design approaches were discussed. Prof. Dr. Heinz Günter Holtappels opened the event with an overview lecture on relevant findings from (all-day) school research, followed by three specialist presentations on didactic intervention and design options for learning times and all-day offers in the domains of mathematics, reading and physics. Finally, a panel of experts discussed the findings and presented results as part of a panel discussion, which was also opened up to questions from the floor. The StEG-Lesen team would like to thank all participants for the lively and fruitful exchange.
