On December 8, the results of the current TIMS study (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) were presented. The IFS was in charge of the sub study "Teaching Quality" (Dr. Justine Stang, Chantal Lepper, Prof. Dr. Nele McElvany). Quality teaching is central to the learning success of students. But what are its distinguishing features? This question was investigated by an IFS team as part of the large comparative educational study TIMSS 2019, which is being conducted under the scientific direction of Prof. Dr. Knut Schwippert from the University of Hamburg. The international study surveys the mathematical and scientific skills of primary school children every four years.
