The results of a recent pilot study by the Center for Research on Education and School Development at TU Dortmund University show the effectiveness of a digitally based language support intervention - digital media offer opportunities for effective support measures right from the start of elementary school. However, the potential of digitalization is not being sufficiently exploited in Germany. The data from the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study shows that primary schools in Germany are under-equipped with digital media compared to the rest of the EU and are also used less frequently than average. The results will be presented and discussed as part of the Tuesdays for Education series on January 14, 2025 at 3:30 pm.
