The IFS presented numerous current research findings at the 20th conference of the Educational Psychology Section (PAEPS) of the German Psychological Society (DGPs), which took place from September 29 to October 1, 2025, at the University of Jena on the topic of “THINKING AHEAD.”
Sebastian Vogel, Justine Stang-Rabrig, and Nele McElvany organized the symposium “Dealing with and Consequences of Multidimensional Heterogeneity in the Classroom,” which was discussed by Birgit Heppt. As part of the symposium, Sebastian Vogel presented his research on “Lesson Design Depending on Class Composition and Heterogeneity-Related Teacher Attitudes.” Justine Stang-Rabrig and Sabrina König also organized the symposium “Diversity-Related Implicit and Explicit Attitudes in the School Context,” which was discussed by Ineke Pit-ten Cate from the University of Luxembourg. Among other things, Sabrina König spoke on the topic of “Implicit and explicit attitudes of young people toward people with a migration background and low socioeconomic status, and their consequences.” Nell Royal, Ulrich Ludewig, and Nele McElvany also organized the symposium “AI in Reading Promotion and Language Education,” and Nell Royal explored the topic “Individual Support through AI: Personalized Texts as a Means of Improving Reading Skills” in her presentation. The symposium was discussed by Holger Horz from Goethe University Frankfurt. In Session 11 “Instruments I: Measurement Methods in the Context of Inclusion, Educational Disadvantage, and Sustainable Education,” she gave a presentation on “Technical Vocabulary in the Field of ‘Education for Sustainable Development’: Assessment, Structure, and Connections to Technical Knowledge in Primary School Children.”
