An IFS study examines unconscious attitudes toward various stereotyped groups in society among key age groups.

On average, people of all age groups exhibit unconscious negative attitudes toward various social groups. The extent of these attitudes varies depending on the group. Among adolescents, these attitudes are linked to both individual characteristics and their social environment. This is shown by a study conducted by the Center for Research on Education and School Development at TU Dortmund University. The findings suggest that stereotypes about social groups develop early in life. To prevent discrimination and strengthen social participation, interactions between different social groups in schools should be encouraged.
