The latest volume accompanying the 5th IFS Education Dialogue on the topic "School Intervention: How can science-practice transfer succeed [Schulische Intervention: Wie kann Wissenschaft-Praxis-Transfer gelingen]?" has recently been published by Waxmann-Verlag. The contributions focus on the relevance of the linkage between science and practice, since a successful interaction between these two fields represents an important and common concern of educational research, practice, administration and policy. This becomes particularly apparent in the context of intervention and implementation studies that focus, for example, on promoting subject-specific competencies of learners, enhancing the quality of teaching, or strengthening equal opportunities in the education system. In the articles, central conditions for success, opportunities and challenges of a successful science-practice transfer are considered and discussed from different perspectives. In addition, more forward-looking reflections on possible transfer strategies and on the optimization of transfer processes in the context of schools are outlined.
