The third meeting of the DFG network Influences of the Social Environment on Educational Processes of Students of Different Ethnic and Socioeconomic Backgrounds (SUBSES) took place at the DIPF in Frankfurt am Main on March 6 and 7, 2025, attended by Justine Stang-Rabrig from the IFS, Meike Bonefeld, Marion Fischer-Neumann, Laura Froehlich, Hannah Kleen, Christin Laschke, Melanie Olczyk, Anita Tobisch, Katharina Wehking, Helene Zeeb and Thomas Zimmermann. The focus was on the exchange of challenges and solutions in the use and operationalization of terms in the context of reflective and critical migration research.
Anne-Kathrin Will (deputy professor at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg) and Philipp Jugert (professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen) were two renowned experts for this part of the program. Their valuable input opened up new perspectives and stimulated discussions. Thank you for the valuable input and the enriching discussion.
The meeting was also used to further advance the work in the subgroups and to continue planning the special issue, the concept of which was accepted by the Zeitschrift für Erziehungswissenschaft.
We look forward to further cooperation within the network and to our fall meeting in Berlin in September!
