Last week, from June 22 to 24, the 19th International Conference on Motivation and Emotion took place in Lisbon, Portugal. As part of the symposium “Navigating Towards STEM: Predictors In- and Outside of Education,” organized by Kukka-Maaria Polso, Dr. Elisabeth Graf presented the study “Domain-Specific Career Aspirations, Motivation, and Achievement Across Adolescence,” which was published in Journal of Educational Psychology.
In addition, the symposium featured presentations on the role of career interests in STEM, with findings from Germany (Kukka-Maaria Polso), Canada (Kristy Robinson), and the United States (Kitley Kern). The subsequent discussion led by Daria Benden and involving all participants facilitated an in-depth exchange of international perspectives on the development of career-related interests.
The conference contained exciting, top-quality presentations by internationally renowned researchers on motivation and emotion. We would like to express our gratitude for the enriching exchange, with special thanks to Kukka-Maaria Polso for organizing the symposium and to the ICM organizers for the successful event.
