Dr. Alan Koenig from the National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST) at the University of California (UCLA) kicked off this year's IFS lecture series with a presentation on the development of computer-based competency measurement simulations in terms of Serious Educational Games (SEG). The talk was flanked by the presentation of results from the IFS project "Evidence-based qualification of prospective teachers: effective and adaptive classroom management in inclusive classrooms" (EQuaL-I) by Dr. Annika Ohle-Peters. Possible applications of SEG in the educational context were discussed in plenary.
