On July 14, 2026, the IFS welcomed Professor Susan Neuman from New York University, USA, for a guest lecture titled “From Evidence to Everyday Practice: Helping Reading Research Thrive in Classrooms.”
Last fall, Leonie Dargiewicz worked with Susan Neuman during a two-month research stay. This collaboration resulted in a presentation at this year’s conference of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR) in Rotterdam, as well as a planned joint manuscript. During her visit to the IFS, Professor Neuman presented various intervention projects aimed at strengthening the collaboration between research and practice and promoting early language skills. The visit also provided an opportunity to further refine and finalize the joint projects.
The IFS thanks Professor Neuman for the fruitful exchange and the inspiring insights into intervention research.
