At the 31st meeting of the Austrian Federal Chancellery’s Integration Advisory Council, Dr. Ruben Kleinkorres gave a presentation titled “Educational Success of Children with a Migration Background in Germany”. In addition to providing an overview of educational participation, skill acquisition, and the attainment of educational qualifications among people with a migration background, Dr. Kleinkorres presented findings from a publication on socioeconomic and migration-related inequalities in the transition from primary to secondary school. The study was conducted in cooperation with Dr. Ulrich Ludewig and PD Dr. Ramona Lorenz using data from the 2021 International Progress in Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS/IGLU).
The Austrian Integration Advisory Council is a legally established coordination and advisory body. It serves to connect federal, state, and municipal authorities as well as social partners across Austria in order to implement the National Action Plan for Integration (NAP.I) and ensure knowledge transfer among all involved actors.
