The IFS is expanding its science communication with two research videos. In addition to the institute videos and animated explainer videos, English-language videos on current research findings are now also available on our video portal. The aim of this new video format is to present international scientific publications to a larger target group, as articles in journals are often noted by the respective specialist groups, but the exciting research findings rarely reach the interested international public. This is to be changed with the informative preparation of the research findings as videos. The structure of the videos is always identical: A scientist first presents the research question and the methods used. The results are then discussed and placed in the overall context of the research. The videos end with a discussion of the respective research desiderata. The first two videos, which were shot in this style, are about the motivational trajectory of students and their academic success in math-intensive courses on the one hand, and the Stereotype Threat in learning situations on the other hand.
We hope you enjoy watching them and look forward to receiving feedback on them!
