On 08.07.2025, TfE will address the question of how relevant school quality and school development are for children's reading competence.

Tuesdays for Education (TfE) on Juli 08, 2025, will discuss the topic “What about school quality and school development in elementary schools and how relevant are they for children's reading competence?”.
School quality and the further development of the education system are key objectives of education monitoring and education policy. But how relevant is the development of primary schools in key areas of school quality for the reading competence of their students? Data from a school panel with more than 100 elementary schools in Germany can shed light on this. Developments at school level over the course of five years are linked to the reading skills of fourth graders at elementary schools.

Dr. Saskia Koltermann from the Quality and Support Agency – State Institute for Schools (QUA-LiS NRW) will be our guest.

The webinar is aimed at multipliers from educational practice, educational administration, educational policy and the media landscape and takes place once a quarter.
After the input presentation and contextualization by the guest, we look forward to a joint exchange with all participants.
