The well-attended IFS Virtual Keynote Series on "Innovations for Instructional Design" hosted two internationally renowned and outstanding researchers who delivered insightful keynotes. The event kicked off with Professor Roger Azevedo from the University of Central Florida. In his presentation on "Designing Advanced Learning Technologies to Capture Multimodal Real-Time Self-Regulated Learning Processes", he spoke about the process of self-regulated learning. In particular, he provided an in-depth look at how to measure self-regulated learning using advanced learning technologies that provide different types of data (e.g., eye tracking, log files) to comprehensively analyze the process of self-regulated learning.

In the second keynote on "Opportunities for Educational Research Born of a Long-Running Partnership with a Mathematics Learning Platform”, Asst. Professor Teya Rutherford from the University of Delaware provided an overview of the Spatial Temporal (ST) Math online mathematics learning platform and the resulting research. In the second part of her talk, she outlined student learning and motivation during the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, students used the learning platform presented less frequently than in previous years.
